Irina holds a PhD in cancer biology from the Helmholtz International Graduate School for Cancer Research in Heidelberg (DKFZ), Germany.

Irina’s approach to scientific illustration is heavily influenced by an education and career in science and technology. Having worked in both tech and academia worlds in addition to freelance work, she brings a unique perspective on the role graphic design plays in conveying a compelling scientific story.
